Celebrating Inclusion and Cultural Harmony
On the evening of February 9th, 2025, more than 300 guests from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds gathered at Box Hill Town Hall to celebrate the Lunar New Year at the “Shandong in Victoria, Spring Reunion” Gala.
Hosted by the Victoria Shandong Association & Chamber of Commerce, the event marked both the Lunar New Year and the first anniversary of the Association’s establishment.
Beyond a festive gathering, the evening embodied Victoria’s multicultural values — bringing together people of all ages and cultural heritages to share joy, build understanding, and strengthen community connections.
Building Bridges Across Communities
Over the past year, the Association has organized a variety of activities promoting cultural exchange, youth engagement, and community wellbeing.
By connecting new migrants, long-term residents, seniors, and people from diverse cultural backgrounds, the Association continues to foster cross-cultural understanding, inclusion, and mutual respect, helping build a more cohesive and welcoming community across Victoria.
The Association remains committed to building bridges between the Shandong community and other multicultural groups, contributing to Australia–China friendship, business collaboration, and the shared multicultural identity of Victoria.

Event Highlights
The celebration featured three major sections, combining culture, food, and performance to create a rich cross-cultural experience.
1️⃣ Shandong Expo & Networking Session
Promotional videos from major Shandong cities — Jinan, Qingdao, Yantai, Weihai, Dezhou, Linyi, Jining, Heze, Zibo, Zaozhuang, Tai’an, and Liaocheng — were displayed throughout the venue, drawing enthusiastic attention.
Exhibition booths from sponsors and local businesses encouraged networking and collaboration, fostering mutual trust and understanding among communities.

















🗣️ Guest Speeches & Community Dialogue
Following the networking session, a series of guest speeches were delivered by government officials, community leaders, and business representatives.Speakers extended warm congratulations to the Association for its achievements and expressed support for continued multicultural engagement and collaboration.
Their remarks highlighted shared values of cultural inclusion, economic partnership, and community development, setting a warm and inspiring tone for the evening.












2️⃣ Shandong Cuisine Buffet Dinner
An authentic Shandong-style buffet dinner was offered to thank guests for their continued support.
Food, as always, became a bridge — connecting generations, cultures, and friendships across the dinner tables.


3️⃣ Shandong Gala Evening Show
The evening concluded with the Lunar New Year Gala, featuring 19 cultural performances blending tradition and modern creativity.Youth, families, and seniors shared the stage — celebrating art, culture, and unity together.
Lucky draws and interactive activities brought excitement and laughter, reinforcing the sense of community belonging.









Appreciation and Reflection
The Association extends sincere thanks to all guests, sponsors, performers, volunteers, and families who made the event possible.Special appreciation is given to local councils, community partners, and media organizations whose collaboration strengthens Victoria’s multicultural fabric.
