Dear Fellow Shandong Compatriots,

The Victoria Shandong Fellowship Badminton Club has been officially established!

Do you still remember the gentle summer breeze beneath the locust trees of our hometown? Do you still miss those joyful days of laughter and play with family and friends in the old courtyard? Now, here in Victoria, we are about to rekindle that same warmth and vitality — in a brand-new way.

As more and more Shandong people settle in Melbourne, everyone wishes for a platform where we can both exercise and strengthen our bonds beyond work, study, and daily life. Badminton — a light-hearted and enjoyable sport suitable for all ages — has become the perfect bridge connecting us together.

And so, a new idea was born: to gather all badminton-loving Shandong folks and form a club that belongs to us all. This is not only a stage for sports, but also a bond of friendship — and a new platform to showcase the spirit of perseverance and unity that defines the people of Shandong.

🎯 Club Mission

The establishment of our club is not just about playing badminton. In a foreign land, we aim to connect Shandong fellows through badminton, allowing everyone to find companionship and mutual support here in Melbourne.

At the same time, we hope to use this healthy and positive activity to integrate sports into our daily lives, creating a warm and uplifting community atmosphere.

More importantly, this platform showcases the unity, friendship, and spirit of Shandong people living in Australia — continuing the warmth of our hometown on the badminton court.

🏸 From Social Play to Competitions: The Club’s Many Ways to Play

1. Weekly Social Matches

We hold 1–2 badminton sessions every week, mainly in the form of casual or doubles matches. These events help members stay active while fostering friendship in a relaxed atmosphere.

2. In-Club Friendly Tournaments

We regularly organize friendly games and group competitions, which not only improve skills but also strengthen participation and belonging within the club.

3. External Competitions & Exchanges

We select and train badminton enthusiasts to represent the Shandong community in various amateur badminton tournaments across Melbourne and Victoria, showcasing our unity and sportsmanship.

4. Social and Cultural Events

We combine sports with community life, organizing gatherings, festive celebrations, and cultural exchanges through badminton activities — turning the court into a long-term bridge of friendship between Shandong and Australia.
