On 22 May 2026, Ma Yongxin, President of the New Zealand Shandong General Chamber of Commerce, led a delegation to visit the Victorian Shandong Association and Chamber of Commerce in Australia.

Both sides held in-depth discussions on strengthening Shandong business networks across Australia and New Zealand, building enterprise service platforms, and supporting Shandong brands in expanding overseas, while exploring new opportunities for cooperation and development.

The exchange was held at the meeting room of the Victorian Shandong Association and Chamber of Commerce. President Chen Guangbao, together with board representatives, warmly welcomed the visiting delegation.

Both sides engaged in open and practical discussions on the development of overseas Shandong community organisations, resource-sharing mechanisms and future directions for cooperation.

During the exchange, both sides agreed that overseas chambers of commerce and community organisations play an important role in supporting enterprises to expand globally, promoting economic cooperation and facilitating resource connections.

Given the close links between the Australian and New Zealand markets, Shandong business organisations across both countries should further strengthen collaboration and jointly build a platform to support Shandong enterprises in expanding overseas.

Notably, the exchange also coincided with Qingdao Hailiya Group’s business visit to Australia. Huang Tao, Vice Chairman of Hailiya Group, and Liu Yongping, Head of the Overseas Department, engaged in in-depth discussions with both chambers on the company’s overseas market strategy, local cooperation opportunities and brand development direction.

Qingdao Hailiya Group is a leading enterprise in China’s rope industry, with long-standing expertise in safety protection, marine technology and related sectors. The company enjoys strong industry recognition and brand influence.

In recent years, Hailiya has actively advanced its internationalisation strategy and expanded into overseas markets. Its visit to Australia not only reflects the company’s commitment to exploring international cooperation opportunities, but also provides a valuable example for Shandong enterprises seeking to connect resources and establish their brands through overseas chamber platforms.

Looking ahead, the Victorian Shandong Association and Chamber of Commerce will continue to serve as a bridge for cooperation, deepen engagement among Shandong business communities across Australia and New Zealand, and actively integrate resources to support enterprises, contributing to the overseas growth and development of more Shandong brands across Oceania.
